In the middle of the Covid 19 quarantine, love bug season, hurricane season, rioting, and one of the hottest July’s I can remember, we have determined life will be sweeter on the road. With zero RV experience, a one year old, and a knack for losing GPS signal , we prepare to embark on a 3000 mile journey from Florida to Washington State. So instead of starting small, with a small RV and a short trip, we are going BIG with a massive 36ft 5th wheel trailer and doing coast to coast.
Our route leaving from Florida is planned to head through Georgia, on to Nashville, past the St. Louis arches, through Kansas City, Omaha Nebraska, Rapid City, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, my Mom’s in Missoula Montana, and finally to our house on the river in Washington! While our main goal was to avoid flying, we did not want to miss a summer at our house in Sunland. Bringing a toy hauler RV allows us to also bring bikes, extra paddle boards, our Honda Pioneer and so many other fun toys we normally would not be able to take on the plane. Our daughter Mackenzie has barely had any long car rides since February due to quarantine so what could go wrong breaking her back into driving with long 6 hour car rides that never end back home 🙂
The first adventure began with finding the right RV to buy, and hubby is a special kind of Diva when it comes to big purchases. We ended up with the 2021 Grand Design Momentum 320g as our first family camper. With 2 bathrooms, a 10 foot garage, 3 pop-outs and a back balcony we will not be roughing it like when I was a kid. The trick is going to be figuring out how to arrive at our campsites early enough to enjoy all the cool gadgets and learning how to drive/park/back the rig into campgrounds and gas stations. Prayers please for us in advance!!! Nothing like a good road trip strengthen the marriage bond.
We leave town every summer to avoid hurricane season here in Florida, and to spend quality time with my family out in the Pacific Northwest. Staying home, as usual, is our cat Peekachu, our 5 chickens, our fish, and this year my new improved massive veggie garden. Thanks a bunch to all the friends and family who always take great care of our home and animals while we are gone!
Safe Travels and Please be careful❣️🙏…Let me know if anyone needs help taking care of the animals or veggies!
